Over the past 15 years, the University of Delaware's Marching Band has grown to be one of the most exciting and entertaining bands in the East. Providing the fuel for the band is the UD Drumline. The drumline consists of a large corps-sized battery (7-9 snares, 4-5 tenors, 6 bass, 7-9 cymbals) and a full front ensemble (10 percussion, bass guitar).
This site is provided for people who are interested in becoming members of the University of Delaware Drumline. The links above provide information on auditions, technique downloads, and bios for staff members. Auditions are held during the first two days of band camp: Friday, August 2oth and Saturday, August 21st, 2010.
The percussion section also hosts two mini camps during the summer. The dates for summer 2010 are July 11th and August 1st from 10AM until 6PM. The mini camps are held at the university (Center for the Arts in Puglisi Orchestra Hall) and give incoming percussionists a chance to play on our instruments, learn our technical style and meet the staff. You will also receive show music and new exercises at these camps. If you can make it down for the day, we HIGHLY recommend it. This will greatly increase your chances of getting the position you want!
Mini camps are free of charge and there is no need to pre-register.
