The UD Pep Band is an 80+ piece ensemble that plays at UD men’s and women’s home basketball games. The Pep Band course number is MUSC120. It is a spring semester course for 0/1 credits.

The band plays a diverse repertoire of music from current pop tunes to classic rock and big band. We have a rotating list of about 55 charts per season.

REHEARSALS for 2024: 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/24, 10/29 9PM-10:30PM (Puglisi)

PENDING BUDGET APPROVAL - We have 42 scholarships for $500 AND bonus $100 scholarships for members who commit to NCAA or NIT travel.

1. All students must audition.

2. The top 42 musicians (balanced instrumentation) will receive $500 scholarships.

3. All scholarship students MUST TRAVEL (pending approval) for CAA men’s or women’s tournament games.

4. Other musicians (other than the 42 scholarship recipients) may participate in pep band, however they must abide by all pep band guidelines. Some of these students may move into scholarship positions.

Auditions for 24-25 season are Sunday 9/29/24 LIVE. Sign up at Amy E. DuPont ground floor, Marching Band bulletin board for a time between 10:30am - 3:30pm.

Low Brass auditions are in Puglisi Orchestra Hall/CFA, Woodwinds (except tenor sax) in room 207 (AED), High Brass in room 208 (AED), Rhythm Section and Tenor Sax are in the Marching Percussion Cage next to Puglisi Orchestra Hall (AED).

For the drum set auditions, players will demonstrate various styles, fills and solos.
